AUSTRALIA: SEXPO, the worlds largest Health, Sexuality and Lifestyle exhibition was recently successfully exported to Sth. Africa where it attracted 32,000 visitors to the Gallagher Estate in Johannesburg.  The four-day world-class event has toured Australian cities for the last 11 years.  A hugely successful mix of entertainment and exhibitors, SEXPO has attracted nearly 2 million people over that time and has become the most popular exhibition of its kind.

With no previous exhibition experience, Silas Howarth (SEXPO Sth. Africa) decided that there was no sense in ‘reinventing the wheel’ and approached SEXPO Australia’s David Ross for information about holding the event into Sth. Africa.  Several months later, a license agreement was signed and the Sth. African event staged within the year.

SEXPO began in Melbourne, Australia in 1996 as a forum for women to feel comfortable about buying adult products.  The event has expanded into a broad ‘adult lifestyle’ exhibition and maintains strong female patronage (44%+) and now visits five major Australian, and three Sth. African cities each year.
